Summary: As the Enterprise attempts to cross the edge of the galaxy, Spock (and a few crew members) are zapped by a bolt of lightening from a magnetic space storm. The electricity in the jolt causes the human victims to gain godlike powers while Spock goes into pon farr prematurely. Everything spirals out of control as Kirk struggles with saving his crew, his ship and his best friend. When the two find themselves abandoned on a deserted planet and Spock's condition reaches it's peak, Kirk is forced to choose between letting Spock die or binding the two of them together until death (through sex) to save him. Oh, and a baby is thrown into the mix.
